J. Stott and Sons Ltd was founded by Walter Stott who left the army after the 1st World War (he was a medical orderly) He loved this company and worked here well into his 90s, and has now passed on.

J. Stott & Sons was established in the early 1920`s as a small family firm, primarily trading in housewares and medicines, from a barrow.

Purchased premises and started the small scale manufacture of overalls, tea aprons and various garments for the work wear trade.

Over the last 80+ years the manufacturing side of the business has expanded, which today is managed by the founders Great Grandson Tony Holt.

The housewares, and medicines business expanded into a sales representative based wholesale supplier of Hardware, Toys, Greetings Cards, Fancy Goods, Stationery, Medicines and Household items, supplying retailers throughout the North West of England.

25 Years ago the wholesale business opened up a Cash & Carry to supply local shops with products at more competitive prices.

2001 saw the launch RechargeOnline the Electric Bikes site to sell products direct to the public, as the Internet has become a useful tool for searching and buying conveniently the range is now very big at over 100 different models..

2002 saw the launch of LeapFrogShop, a site to sell quality interactive educational children's products made by Leapfrog and well known and trusted by parents.

2006 saw the launch of FisherPriceShop, selling the excellent range of this well known brand.

2007 saw the closure of the Wholesale Cash and Carry, due to the decline in small independent shops and post offices.

J. Stott have been members of the The Forward Group, The Lion Group of Wholesalers, and most recently The Premier Group.
